Country Briefings Quick User Guide
The Country Briefings Total Access service provides you with constant
access to an information resource on 32 global economies.
Click Here and activate your preferred trial if you do not already have
a username and password.
Log in
- To log in go to the top of left hand column
- Username will be your e-mail address
Basics
The centre of the subscribers' landing page lists in alphabetical order all the latest Briefings for each country.
- All Briefings are written from scratch every 6 weeks and cover 9 sections
- All Briefings are in PDF format.
- There is an 10-year archive on 30 countries, Canada and Israel are relatively new additions
- Each Briefing has 9 standard sections (prior to the year 2000 there were fewer sections covered)
Country Portals
- Each country has its own Portal
- In the left hand column select Country
- Select say the China Portal
- The top gives the dates covered in the current briefing
- The title of Current briefing
- Below is an interesting extract from the current briefing
- Below are 3 topics covered within the 9 standard sections
- At a glance = basic population stats etc
- A map
- Headlines and extracts from each briefing
- To see previous Briefings click on >> View extracts from 8 year archive at the foot of the page.
- This will take you to 8 pages of titles and extracts
Research Tools
Calling up by section ie Mergers
- On the right hand side you can call up/drill down by sector ie you can research the database by any of the 9 sections on their own
- So in China click on Mergers & Acquisitions

- If you put in a search and nothing comes up in that country search you are given the option of searching the entire database. For example go to the Israel portal and put in British Petroleum, it will come up with nothing then you are asked if you want to search the whole database and you will see pages of references.
The World Stock Market Database
- Is to be found on the top right of any portal page
- Gives performance of some 55 indices over 1 month and since the start of each year back to 1996 on some 45 countries.
